36 psi Front

That's what the tag says on my K5 Frame.
Factory OEM Tyres.

Hey,
Those seem kinda high...they're probably max safe cold psi, not necessarily the optimal running pressures... I run pilot powers these days at around 34-36 in back and 32-33 in front for the street, and around 30-32 rear with 30-31 front for the track...

what kind of tire are you running?...I've got the pilot power 2ct's and I run 42 in the rear and 36 in the front...seems high but those powers LOVE it.. that much pressure in the rear gets the bike a little shaky doing stand up wheelies on the highway..

okay..I didn't see the other replies before mine..running lower tire pressure gives you a softer feel in the corners and little bit more surface contact giving you more traction. but as a personal preference I don't like my tires to flex, I'm about to hit 54,000 on my bike and I'm comfortable with the way my bike handles with higher pressures. I work on alot of CBR's VTX's Goldwings etc. and Really what it all comes down to is what people Hear their tire pressures should be instead of actually getting out there and testing. I change people's tire pressures all the time to what I know is the best setup for the bike, the tires, and the condition of the tires and they have never complained, they just think they're bike runs better. As a motorcycle technician, I have to use my own personal judgement because alot of people out there don't really know what they want.

Yeah, agreed - try different pressures and do some testing...this is how I found those numbers I listed. Granted, I've only got about half the miles Brian's got, and as such I may well end up trying something else for tires/pressures, and liking the new setup better...unknown until tried, I just try to give a new setup a fairly long trial, under the same or similar conditions as the previous setup, taking some notes. Yes, full-frontal nerdity I know...hahaha!
